5-28-2008 Donnie completed this Memorial Day weekend with plenty
of racing action. On Friday May 23rd Moran raced at Raceway 7 in
Conneaut, OH. Donnie started out he evening as fast qualifier
with a lap of 17.103. This would invert Donnie to start 4th in
his heat race where he battled his way to a 6th place finish.
This was not good enough to make it into the main event. Moran
then started his B-Main event in 3rd which he held on to so that
he would make the main event. Donnie started 23rd in the main
events and raced his way to pass all 20 cars in front of him and
earn a 3rd place finish. On Saturday May 24th Donnie raced at
Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH. Donnie started of
the evening as 22nd quick with a lap of 17.792. Donnie would
then have to go out and show everyone that he meant business in
the heat race. Donnie started 4th in the heat race and after 8
laps of trying to find the right groove Donnie went to the very
top of the track were he raced his way to a 2nd place finish.
This was good enough to transfer him to start 12th in the main
event. Donnie raced a hard race against Cody Parker(42) till
getting around Parker soon behind Parker came Tim Dohm(6t).
Moran challenged Dohm many times but after a caution on lap 38
Moran sat 7th behind Dohm he raced the top of the track once
again and was able to finish 6th. Finally to finish out the
weekend on Sunday May 25th Donnie traveled to Cannonball
Speedway in St.Clairsville, OH. Donnie qualified 6th quick with
a lap of 15.922 which would start him 4th in the heat event.
Donnie raced Rod Conley till lap 3 when he would take the
lead and led the rest of the race to finish 1st. This would
allow Donnie to run the Dash against all the other heat race
winners. Donnie would start 2nd he then dropped backed to 3rd
and raced his way to a 2nd place finish. Donnie would then start
the main event 2nd. For most of the race Donnie raced hard and
fought rough track conditions on the bottom to finish 4th. All
of the above events were Independent Racing Series (IRS) events. For
